Along the Bucolic Trails of Costa Paradiso

Hiking between Li Cossi and Tinnari

Duration

Maximum 6 hours

Price per person

€ 40

Departure

Costa Paradiso Village

Service Description

Li Cossi and Tinnari are two stunning coves located in Northern Sardinia, bathed by emerald seas and connected by a picturesque nature trail. This stretch of coast is also a Special Area of Conservation (SAC) thanks to its Mediterranean scrub vegetation, dominated by Phoenician junipers, olive trees, helichrysum, and wild lavender.

The coastal system develops through a system of inlets, following the rias (river-shaped) coastline, carved by deep river valleys flooded by the sea, typical of the Gallura landscape. The area is characterized by small bays and promontories, marked by the continuous presence of the various granite morphologies that characterize the coastal and inland landscape: tafonate rocks, spherical blocks, granite tors, isolated reliefs, sea stacks, and tafoni.

The woods and ruined sheepfolds bear witness to an ancient world and represent a cultural monument to the agricultural and pastoral life of the sheepfold civilization, while the tafoni in this area were used as shelters by Sardinian-Corsican bandits. The trails, charcoal pits, and place names of these sites allow us to understand the origins of the place, a tangible sign of the relationship between man and the land.

Spring is the ideal season for this trek, better than the others both in terms of climate and nature, with much of the vegetation in full bloom.
